Start on the English riviera in Brighton. The Brakeaway participants will then split in to two groups, with one heading to Portsmouth to begin their two-day party cruise to Spain, and the other hopping over the channel in a mad dash through France to beat them down there, fittingly ending the day in Le Mans, home of the world famous endurance race.
Saturday 25th August 2007
It’s a early start for the drivers as they begin the gruelling 400 mile journey down through the Pyrenees and into northern Spain, hoping to reach their second stop-over, San Sebastian, before nightfall.
Sunday 26th August 2007
The rally heads west in to the Castile and León region to the countless cafes, restaurants and bars of the inspiringly beautiful city of Salamanca.
Monday 27th August 2007
Day four sees our Red Bull-powered convoy travel down to the southern city of Granada in the exotic and colourful Andalusia region. Flanked on one side by the Sierra Nevada mountain range and stuffed with Moorish and Morisco architecture, there is still plenty to see and do.
Tuesday 28th August 2007
The drivers begin the next leg of the journey, this time heading north to the coastal city of Valencia. It’s got beaches, it’s got sunshine and it was the city that invented paella… brilliant!
Wednesday 29th August 2007
One of the biggest and definitely most bonkers festivals in the world – La Tomatina. Kicking off in the tiny village of BuÃol at 11am
The team then plans to head back towards the UK via Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and finally France
