Road Test

12 06 2007

The team has been busy. We all took a spin in the taxi the other day, it was great, found out the brakes are brilliant, but thats fine, we can sort that out. It was a good old fashion Top Gear test with a deserted large piece of tarmac, some cornering, some screaming, some heavy braking, some driving over heights….(wasn’t me, promise)

With the departure of team from Canterbury, the taxi has been put into hibernation for a few weeks till we return to prepare it for its epic journey

Fundraising update

7 06 2007

To date, the team has raised over £100 for all our chairites. Please donate, and tell all your friends and families.

Remember if you donate over £2 to any one of the 5 charities you will get your name printed on the side of the taxi for all to see how great you are!

It lives!!!!

6 06 2007

The taxi is fully functional! Canterbury was shocked as the taxi trundled along the streets of Canterbury and KentUni Campus and the engine sounds better than my own car!!

We also had our interview with the Adscene newspaper and so if you are lucky enough to get that fantastic free paper through your doors in East Kent then look out for our article in the coming weeks. We will also put a scan of the article up on the site as soon as we can.

We’ve got power captain!!!

5 06 2007

We have a new battery for the taxi, its very shiny and clean and white.

Chris and I went to pick up from a garage I called the day before and when I got to the counter they asked “How much did I say it was yesterday?” I nearly said £2 hehe.

The taxi now has power, the lights work, even the radio works, but it appears to have run out of diesel……yet another problem to over come…….at least the radio works
